We are thrilled to announce our sponsorship and active involvement with Matthew Moss High School for the upcoming academic year!

As part of their RACE TO THE LINE and STEM challenge, we’ll be collaborating closely with the school, visiting them, and inviting students to our local facilities. This initiative provides a fantastic opportunity to inspire future careers in our industry and foster a love for STEM. The challenge, developed and supplied by The Learning Partnership, involves students designing and racing model rocket cars - an excellent way to integrate physics, engineering, and teamwork into practical learning experiences. By supporting this challenge, we aim to enhance STEM education, provide real-world insights, and strengthen our community ties. We look forward to a long, collaborative, and prosperous relationship with Matthew Moss High School for many years to come.

What is STEM education?

STEM education is a teaching approach that combines Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics into a cohesive learning model. It emphasises hands-on activities, real-world applications, and problem-solving to help students understand and apply concepts from these subjects. By integrating these areas, STEM education prepares students for future careers and everyday challenges by developing their critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork skills.

Why is STEM education important?

STEM education is particularly important for high school students because it prepares them for the demands of the modern workforce and higher education. During these formative years, students develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills that are essential in STEM fields and beyond. Engaging in STEM subjects helps students understand the practical applications of their learning, making education more relevant and inspiring. It also opens up a wide range of career opportunities in high-growth industries such as technology, engineering, healthcare, and environmental science. By fostering a strong foundation in STEM, high school students are better equipped to navigate future challenges and succeed in an increasingly complex and technology-driven world.
